A Google AdSense ban is final and unrefutable … learn how to avoid it:
If you’ve had friends who had the ill-fate of getting their AdSense account banned, you would know that AdSense bans are final – once you make some mistake, Google is very unlikely to give you your account back, even with your best efforts to challenge that fate. So to most people who make a living this way, it’s vital to know what causes AdSense bans and how to steer clear of it.
If you look at Google’s terms for AdSense, the one you agree with upon registration, it would seem that their purpose is very obvious – to prevent providing badly made and content –poor websites from participating in the program. I can almost hear you say “But my blog isn’t like that?”. Well sometimes, a tiny incident can cause your ban , even if you don’t realize it, so that’s why we’ve compiled this list.
Avoiding an AdSense ban:
- 1. Do not, ever, click your own ads! Maybe you’re interested on an offer you saw when you refreshed your own site. Or maybe somehow got the twisted idea that no one would realize if you clicked your own ads or not. The reason doesn’t matter, what does is the fact that once Google notices you clicking your own ads, that’s a surefire way to a Google AdSense ban. Avoid that at all cost, and if you really must see that ad, be sure do a search for the website instead of opening it by clicking.
- 2. Do not place your ads near Flash games or any other sort of menu links. Doing that will make Google certain that you’re trying to trick the users into clicking your ads, and this will be frowned upon. That, at least in my opinion, is not auto-detected, but will be the first thing the manual review team in Google will notice, if the other information seems suspicious.
- 3. Do not use copyrighted material or do not place your ads near it. It’s basic common sense not to use anything someone else didn’t give you the right to distribute. Still, even if it’s an excerpt or a quote from copyrighted material, abstain from having your ads anywhere near it, since Google frowns upon this.
- 4. Do not place your ads near adult content. This includes not only pornography or erotica of any sort, but also footage of extreme violence, gore, and racial intolerance. It’s very likely that if you have such content, you’ll get an AdSense ban.
- 5. Do not try to ask users into clicking, promise rewards for that, or in any way convince them to click the ads. Saying things like “if you want to show a little support, click the ads” or “click the ads to keep the site running” is a certain way to get a ban, because if you do this, you practically make users provide false information about being interested in a product – you get paid for the ad, while the advertiser gets nothing. You’ll probably say “but how will they know?”. It’s very easy, actually. If done naturally, your site should have a lot less clicks than visits, but if you stimulate your users to click in any way, that “triggers the alarm” in Google , since it’s nearly impossible for nearly all of your visitors to have clicked the ads.

In general , these are the things you should avoid like the plague, if you want your AdSense account to still be up and running, and make you money from the content on your site.
But avoiding a ban doesn’t mean you’ll actually be able to make money. So what do we do know ?
Making more money out of AdSense :
Some common tips in increasing the net amount of money you’d get out of your ads includes the following things:
- Try to increase the traffic of your site. How you do it is pretty much irrelevant, any ethical way is good. Preferably adding some interesting content and doing some organic Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
- Increase your CTR (Click Through Ratio) – CTR is a number which represents how many of your actual visitors click on the ads. The increase can happen if you change the style of your ads, place them better, and lower the number of links in your page, so that when users need to continue, they might try your ads.
- Increase your CPC (Cost Per Click) – this number is basically the average you make of one click to your articles. By careful manipulation of what ads you accept to display, you can achieve great success with increasing CPC.
